Space Memorabilia from Ray's days at Kennedy Space Center
A little known fact is, in 1976 Ray went to work to save Mobile Launcher No 1 from being dismantled. ML-1 was used to launch Apollo-11 which landed man on the moon for the first time and Ray thought it should be preserved for historical purposes. The end results was Congress passed a bill directing NASA to preserve ML-1 for a National Monument at some later date after the Shuttle Program and part of this display contains the newspaper articles and Ray's letters to the President, Congress and NASA to accomplish the effort.
